Porter asks Van what his favorite thing is to collect right now and he explains why he consistently looks for "cross collectability". As partner and president of David Hall Rare Coins, he is held in highest regard by his clientele, many of whom have been with him for over 30 years. He is respected by his peers for both his knowledge and reputation for integrity. PCGS has graded and certified over 23 million coins over the last 26 years. PCGS has over 1200 authorized dealers world wide who sell their product. PCGS is now under the umbrella of Collectors Universe CLCT which trades on the Nasdaq Exchange. Van sits on the board of directors for the company and holds a certification as an Advanced Professional Director with the Corporate Directors Group. He also sits on the Governance Committee for the company. Collectors Universe has several different companies that it owns, along with PCGS they also own PSA , Professional Sports Authority. PSA grades and authenticates sports cards, PSA currently has over 1000 authorized dealers within it’s network. He has also won acclaim as a collectibles dealer in sports cards and memorabilia, rare firearms, Western memorabilia and collectible knives. His personal collections run the gamut from antique golf clubs to firearms, from English pottery to Bowie knives, from American and French art glass to Western Americana.
